Either you were a boho girl, which meant you were under 25, you piled on you just-picked-up-from-Portobello-Market clothes or maybe some gorgeous beaded designer pieces, slung on a loose belt around your hips and of you went.
Or you preferred a tidier, more ladylike approach: you buttoned your blouse up properly; you preferred handbags to satchels; there were subtle nods to matching colours – the appliqué on your shoe, say, echoed the piping on your cardigan; and while you might be found on a market on a Saturday, it was more likely to be a flower market as you selected a bouquet for a dinner party.
