Friday! The weeks are rushing past in such an unbelievable pace, I can’t believe we’re almost half way through november.. In Stockholm, everything is pitch dark by five in the afternoon, there are no more (fresh) flowers in the marketplace and the stores have snowflake decals on their displays. It’s ok though, I like this time of year. At least if you’re well-rested. Otherwise, I’m in coffee-poisioning-mode most of the day.
Willy Wonka-ish chimney, reaching up and away like his neverending chocolate factory-elevator.
Flowery branch you nicked from a garden on your way home on a friday in may (yup, a little summer sulk here).
Floor five with a luscious gold decal. My favorite floor, even if I’m not sure where it is or what the other floors are like.
Grey, white, black, marble floors and window ceilings. Only exists on Pinterest, but still!
I love anything with a “Palais” in it’s name. It sound so soft and smooth, like a dessert almost. Much unlike the word Palace, or Palats in swedish which sound like some hard, unapproachable material or something gore-texy. The space above, Palais de Tokyo, was just born for the word I just dissected a tad too far. I want painted curtains as wallpaper when I see it!
Things in order, never fails to be appealing.
The strangest/cutest apples I found somehwere on instagram. Pink apple pie must be a winning dessert..
What does a Palais, a OCD-shelf and pink apples have in common? Well not much, except that they could all be part of a regular day and make it a little more peculiar just by being what they are perhaps.
Such an amusing concept: Gourmet mouse traps. It is what it sounds like. I think some human beings, myself included, would easily become victims (especially if it involved strawberry shortcake..).
As I’m currently attending courses in typography and graphic design, I’m suffering from slight tunnel vision which may explain some posters and stuff appearing on Lolitas from now. The calender above is set in the 18th-century font Clarendon (used in old western wanted posters among other things). I think it’s pretty in all it’s boldness, don’t you?
This kitchen is just too adorable with it’s dusty pink cupboards and diagonal checkered floor.. From a London studio I found right here.
So, saucy mouse traps, chunky typefaces and playful kitchens made for great meetings and delicious coffee breaks… These are some of the things in my inspiration-folders right now!
I’ve been the lousiest blogger. It’s a shame really, of all the things I like to do, blogging is up in the top of the list. That’s why I’ll give it a good ol’ november roll! Starting off with the ultimate “fika” (coffee and cake-time around three o’clock in Sweden) and the loveliest bathroom view. The pink cup is from Swedish Höganäs – I just love the tree plate underneath, makes it feel so cosy and wintery.
Yep, we’re of to a start! Talk to you soon then! :)
Napoleons supposedly flat. Quite a heavy sales point right there. If you’re into the the french revolution/large ships/pointy hats-thing I mean. I’m into the apartment for obvious reasons: huge open spaces, ridiculously pretty stucco and marble bath. And the dog. By Freak Architects (via Dezeen).
Continuing on this sentimental/suppressed theme with a series of grey-black-white photos from the genius tumblr Life on Sundays. We’ve got some cement-basing going on, some thick linen fabrics and a black kitchen that was probably born (well, made in non-interior terms) for minimalistic cooking. Can’t go wrong. Unless you’re baking macaroons, what with all the flour swirling around..
I couldn’t kill my darlings putting this together, but that’s just my regular response to visiting the Ann Street Studio. They just manage to capture every show at New York Fashion Week in the most enchanting way and I’m not sure if I’m watching the stills from a Sofia Coppola-movie or Delpozos Spring/Summer 2014-collection. Nothing wrong with that obviously, except for the slight overheating I experience inspiration-wisely. Oh, the luxe curse of an excellent blog like that.
