peppercookie houses, fir trees in linen and homemade package cards. i’m very into the whole christmas thing right now.

i’m always on the look for the perfect cookbook, both visually and recipe-wisely and i think i might have found it, and so close to christmas time too (this will make a perfect present for my seafood-loving dad). nothing makes me want to pack my bags and go live in a cottage by the sea as much as this. sole meunière, bleak roe toast with ice cold beer and hake with garlic and lentils. it kind of makes me feel the smell of ocean, even though i’m in stockholm in not the best of weather conditions.

the book is called Hav (ocean in swedish) and is by the owners of an excellent sea food store called Hav in Hötorgshallen in Stockholm. can be bought by their counters in Hötorgshallen or by calling +468 20 30 03

tropical summery flower bouquet and playful christmas package. and now i’m going to eat a warm lussekatt with saffron, drink some glögg and decorate the christmas tree. yay!

cheese and soup, tree stickers on packages and the stillness of a pine forest (where i’d like to escape in december and live in a perfectly snug, hidden cottage, if you know what i mean) via tas-ka and wrap shop.

tonight i’ve been making the classical serbian dishes sarma and gibanica. i love the almost handicrafty way you fold the sauerkraut, layer the filos and brush the cheese in between each chiffon-like coating. then the milk soaking, the smell when it’s in the oven.. the whole procedure is very meditative and relaxing.
